Birthday cakes wellington restaurants 3

A beautiful cake has been a symbol of celebration since ancient Greece.
In those times the cakes may have looked a little different, basically bread covered in honey, but just like today they marked a special occasion.

If you are celebrating a special occasion with us, we offer delicious homemade cakes served with all the trimmings, and candles if requested.

You can choose to have the cake served as dessert or following dessert.
$7 per head on its own and $10 a head when served as dessert
Choices are Vanilla or Chocolate cake
And please let us know if you’d like a cake two days in advance.

Tbone steak boulcott street wellington restaurant 2

We did steal this blog title from American rapper T-Bone –  however,  we’re certain if he tasted our June lunch special, all would be forgiven.

We’ve a new meaty offering on the lunch menu for the month of June, Twenty Dollar T-bones.
This big beautiful steak is served with Café de Paris butter and watercress salad. It’s a great value winter dish that’s perfect for a casual lunch.

Returned servicemen and women dine on the house this ANZAC day

We’re inviting returned servicemen and women to a complimentary meal on ANZAC Day.

ANZAC Day celebrates and honours those men and women who have served New Zealand and Australia in military operations. This ANZAC Day Wellington restaurants Monsoon Poon, Boulcott Street Bistro and Osteria del Toro are honouring all returned servicemen and women by inviting them to dine for free.

“There are many New Zealanders who have served our country and deserve our recognition and we’d like to thank them, ” Monsoon Poon owner and president of the Wellington branch of the Restaurant Association of New Zealand, Mike Egan says.

After seeing a similar concept in the United states, and talking to Monsoon Poon customers Mr Egan brought the tribute to New Zealand in 2012.

“Many restaurants throughout the United States honour their service men and women in a similar style with ‘Veterans’ Dine for Free’. It has proven to be a well respected event, with a great response,” said Mr Egan.

“A few of our guests [at Monsoon Poon] were once stationed at the NZ Army base in Singapore and love South East Asian food, so I thought we’d invite them to dine as an acknowledgement of their service,

“Last year, we had a number of returned servicemen and women enjoy the offer and I hope that this will become an annual event on restaurant calendars throughout New Zealand,” said Mr Egan.

Monsoon Poon and Osteria del Toro are open for 5pm dinner this ANZAC Day, Thursday 25th April.

(Offer also available at Monsoon Poon, Auckland)

Boulcott Street Bistro is open from 5.30pm

Share this with every person you know who has served New Zealand and Australia, and be sure to thank them.
